South Fayette Township Watersheds Visual Assessment

Volunteers will be out walking the streams and tributaries located within South Fayette Township

Data collected will include identification of environmental issues, including areas of stream bank erosion, excess sedimentation, AMD discharges and impaired watercourse segments.

The data collected will be utilized to identify strategies to preserve and protect the existing natural resources in the township as well as identify areas that require varying levels of remediation to restore these resources to their natural condition.

The data will also be used to develop storm water best management practices within the township.

Project Update as of May 2010: 
A good portion of the data has already been collected.  The remainder of the data, information from Millers Run and select tributaries to Millers Run will be collected before years end.
