Traffic Island Beautification Project

SFCG volunteers were out early in the morning planting the perennials.

Evonne was our most eager volunteer for the planting project.

Bob, an SFCG Officer, planted many of the flowers.

SFCG member Larry played the vital role of delivering the plants to the traffic islands in his truck.

The layout of the plants was designed by Bedner Greenhouse.

Bedner Greenhouse, a SFCG corporate member, also graciously donated all of the plants.

Thanks to the South Fayette Public Works Department, the islands were tilled for easier planting.

Perennials were chosen because they will continue to beautify the islands for many years to come.

Geranium 'Rozanne'

Thanks to all of the volunteers who helped us to plant on such a warm summer day.

Special thanks go out to Jerry Males, Director of South Fayette Parks and Recreation. Jerry volunteered his time to water the plants using the townships water buffalo.

Permanent signage was placed at the gardens by the South Fayette Department of Public Works in recognition of the South Fayette Conservation Group and Bedner Greenhouse.
